The Global Toy Design Awards (GTA) celebrates excellence in toy, play, and family-focused design. Designers and creators from around the world are invited to submit their most imaginative and impactful projects, competing for distinguished recognition and global visibility.

Professional fee: €200
50% off per additional category, if the same design is submitted to multiple categories

You may submit an entry into multiple categories at the same time. You may choose to pay online using one of the available options.

No Further Fees: Unlike some other design awards and competitions, there are no further fees for winning the award and everything listed in the winner’s benefits will be provided free of charge.

The Emerging Global Toy Design Award highlights the most promising new talents in the worlds of play, learning, and family-centered design. It celebrates bold ideas, fresh perspectives, and innovative creations that redefine how we play and grow. This award offers emerging designers a global platform to showcase their work, connect with industry leaders, and launch their careers.

JUDGING CRITERIA

The evaluation process for the Global Toy Design Awards follows judging criteria that evolve with updated technical, social, economic, and environmental requirements. These criteria offer a clear framework for assessment, complemented by each juror’s expertise, experience and sociocultural background.

Our Jury is fully committed to a fair and impartial review. Members are assigned categories that match their professional backgrounds, and all entries are presented randomly and anonymously to ensure unbiased judging.

The judging criteria include the following:

  1. Play Value & Engagement – ability to keep users motivated and meaningfully engaged.
  2. Educational & Developmental Benefits – support for cognitive, motor, or social growth.
  3. Usability & Accessibility – clarity of function and ease of use for the intended age group.
  4. Innovation in Play – new ideas in mechanics, materials, or interaction.
  5. Safety & Durability – compliance with safety standards and robustness in frequent use.
  6. Design Quality – craftsmanship, material use, aesthetics, and overall execution.
